Snowflake Buttercup was one of the most popular D****y princess of the early 1990's and lead heroine of the critically acclaimed and Academy Award-nominated animated musical "Snowflake and the Enchanted Prince". But the recent economic crises forced her company to layoff several 'toon employees, including Snowflake herself. As several of the unemployed 'toons who were desperately seeking for work, Snowflake is depressed living in a rundown apartment on food stamps and Social Security. One day, while entering at a local bank where she was trying to withdraw some money from her life savings, she was bumped two armed robbers fleeing after their heist, leaving a bag of money on the way. Frustrated with anger and some sense of duty as citizen, Snowflake, with some surprising feat of strength, threw the dropped moneybag at one of the robbers, causing a chain reaction that knocked them unconscious. Been seen as a local hero, Snowflake decided to use her talents to help people. Inspired by her mentor Harry Hare, who started a detective agency years earlier, Snowflake decided to start a detective agency on her own. Since then, Snowflake uses her once-praised fame, and later a surprising skill with a handgun, to help the citizens of L.A. with their problems. Now, under registration from the peacekeeping agency INTERCEPT, Snowflake helps some of the nation's crime fighters and public vigilantes with assistance in their work, while trying to earn money to get food on the table.

Snowflake misses the days of being a popular animated heroine, yet she uses her agency as a sign of release and sense of adventure from the everyday hardships of living in a apartment with annoying neighbors. Looking for redemption from her fall from grace, Snowflake likes to help the many citizens with her compassion and sense of morality, even though she has yet to learn being experienced as a private eye. Having a reputation of being some sort of a flake, she still acts like her onscreen counterpart as a animated movie princess, having her mind wandering off as she is in a fictional magical kingdom instead of reality and occasionally bursts into song, especially in the late night annoying her neighbors to use expletives to tell her to keep quiet. She also occasionally gets herself as the typical "damsel-in-distress" stereotype, getting into perilous situations and other kinds of trouble. But when push comes to shove, she somehow finds a way to solve a case and get the criminal when she sets her mind to it. Her favorite hobbies are singing and frolicking with animals. Her favorite food is apple pie with whipped cream.

Despite her inexperience in the field of private investigations, she gets help from her contacts in the LAPD and INTERCEPT to assist her in cases. She has experience in the entertainment, including her years at D****y studios as a popular celebrity. She is a trained track athlete, gymnast and swimmer with surprisingly incredible agility. She has a 'toonlike "magical" ability to change her clothes while spinning (though her spinning is slower and more conservative than the usual fast-spinning transformations of most female metahumans). But her greatest ability is not the usual for an animated heroine, she has gifted, near-perfect pistol marksmanship with any type of handgun, including her preferred weapon, a Desert Eagle .357 magnum semi-automatic, though she mostly use her shooting skills on clearing obstacles and incapacitating hostiles. She is extensively trained in karate and jujitsu. She is also a seasoned championship-caliber race car driver and expert in advanced driving techniques.
