Crystalia is a alien magical fairy (called a Star Familiar) and devoted ally of the Star Maidens and was one of the guardians entrusted from the original Aurora Star to guard the Arctic caverns where the her sworn enemy, Alpha Nemesis was sealed for presumably eternally in order to protect the sacred Advent Scepter. When an archeological expedition recently surveyed and studied the ruins, a hapless young girl named Jasmine Webb Starling, who was actually the reincarnation of a powerful intergalactic female warrior named Aurora Star, accidentally stumbled and un-sealed Alpha's tomb, released the renegade Star Maiden and also released the dark entity energy manifested within Alpha herself, unleashed a new kind of evil upon the Earth. Feeling that Jasmine was responsible for releasing this horror, Crystalia followed her to her home in Aurora, Oregon. While Jasmine prepared to go to bed after a hectic school day, Crystalia surprised her by revealing herself in front for her. Thinking that Crystalia was some weird insect, Jasmine panicked and attempted to whack the fairy with a fly-swatter, until Crystalia transformed into human size, further shocking the already confused Jasmine. After explaining the past events in the ruins, Crystalia told Jasmine that she is the reincarnation of a noble intergalactic warrior and granted her responsibility of stopping Alpha from pursing the Advent Scepter, send her back to her prison and reseal it. Crystalia then "reawaken" Jasmine with incredible superpowers and a skimpy uniform, commissioned her as Aurora Star. Now as Jasmine's confidant and guardian, Crystalia and Jasmine continue to recruit new girls and build an army of superheroes to counter Alpha and the inevitable invasion of the Dark Star Maidens, as well as fighting hordes of the Dark Entity's monstrous minions to be humanity's first line of defense against Alpha's determination to enslave Earth and the universe.

Crystalia is naïve and little shy, and always loyal and responsible, helping Jasmine learn the ropes of being a superhero, but she sometimes gets frustrated when Jasmine sometimes uses her powers to attract boys and gained popularity in school. Despite some arguments and disagreements between her and Jasmine, Crystalia soon became more like a "big sister" figure to Jasmine and trusted ally to the other Star Maidens. No favorite hobbies. Her favorite foods are any type of sweets. Her preferred drink is tea with lemon.

As the guardian of the current Aurora Star and guardian of the Star Maidens, Crystalia supplies the Maidens with powers and weapons necessary to fight the forces of evil and counter each new threat. Her other powers include invisibility, super-speed, flight and the ability to transform from fairy-size to wing-less human size (though still in her costume). She can also magical manifest and change clothing to disguise herself as a Japanese-style schoolgirl. She is highly educated in ancient civilization and Earth history. She gives mission orders and strategy to the Maidens warning them of future threats.
